We Believe!

Its a new year! Can you believe it? We are now in the years that Back to the Future was talking about... yeah we still don't have hover boards, but I see them coming real soon ;)

Anyways, a lot has changed from the last time I posted. For one, Drew and I have had a baby, and she is the most adorable little thing ever! Drew has also graduated from college. And we are currently in the process of buying our first home! Yes, a lot is going to change, but it is all very exciting for us.

I have decided to change the style of my posts. I will still be giving updates on our lives, yes, but I felt the need to make them a little bit more of a spiritual/ things that I have felt useful with being a first time mom. Hopefully you will like the change!

The first one that I would like to write about was a talk that we heard in sacrament meeting this past Sunday. The sister gave an amazing talk and had a story about Charles Blondin. He is know for being the first person to ever walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope. It goes like this:

Blondin's greatest fame came on September 14, 1860, when he became the first person to cross a tightrope stretched 11,00 feet (over a quarter of a mile) across the mighty Niagara Falls. People from both Canada and America came from miles away to see this great feat.
He walked across, 160 feet above the falls, several times... each time with a different daring feat- once in a sack, on stilts, on a bicycle, in the dark, and blindfolded. One time he even carried a stove and cooked an omelet in the middle of the rope!
A large crowd gathered and the buzz of excitement ran along both sides of the river bank. The crowd "Oohed and Aahed:" as Blondin carefully walked across - one dangersous step after another - pushing a wheelbarrow holding a sack of potatoes.
Then at one point, he asked for the participation of a volunteer. Upon reaching the other side, the crowd's applause was louder than the roar of the falls!
Blondin suddenly stopped and addressed his audience: "Do you believe I can carry a person across in this wheelbarrow?"
The crowd enthusiastically yelled, "Yes! You are the greatest tightrope walker in the wrold. We believe!"
"Okay," said Blondin, "Who wants to get into the wheelbarrow."
As far as the Blondin story goes, no one did at the time!
This unique story illustrates a real life picture of what faith actually is. The crowd watched these daring feats. They said they believed. But... their actions proved they truly did not believe.
Similarly, it is one thing for us to say we believe in God. However, it's true faith when we believe God and put our faith and trust in His Son, Jesus Christ.

This story made me think, "do we believe" truly? Or are we like the spectators that get caught up in the moment of saying we believe, but then when we are asked to demonstrate that belief we sit back and decided that it is to hard or to scary for us to continue.

 Do you believe??

A New Start

The end of the school year has come and gone and now we are in May. With that said, many new things have changed since the end of school. As you know Drew was in search for a internship and I was still working at the Blindman.... well lets just say that neither of those are true anymore. We took school off this summer because we felt that we had been going hard at life for too long, so we took a break. Drew is still working at Myler Disability, but is writing a book and pursing his life long dream of performing. He is an amazing performer! Once he has his act ready to go, I'm very excited for everyone to see it :) On the other hand, I quit my job and now I am looking for another. These new changes have been very exciting and we are eager to see what life brings from them :)

Oh! Before I forget, Drew and I are very excited for this fall. My sister in law, Drew's sister, is getting married in London, England and we get to go!!!! We are so excited! The first night we are there we are going to a show of one of Drew's favorite performers, Derren Brown! If you don't know who he is, I suggest looking him up on you tube and watch one of his amazing shows. During this trip we are going to go to Paris and Italy. We still haven't narrowed down exactly what we are wanting to do in each, but what ever we chose will be fun :) The only thing I want to do is to sit at a cafe in Paris right next to the Eiffel Tower at night; when all the lights are lite and glowing. Oh, and eating a croissant or two ;)

March 2nd

Hey everyone!!! Thought I would give you an update on Drew and Me. Drew has recently applied and had an interview with Johnson and Johnson. This intern could be in either New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, and or California. We are hoping for either New Jersey or Pennsylvania, because that would pit us closer to Drew's family. It is also a six month intern. We may hear back from them today, but they said at the earliest this week. Please, like I have said before, keep us in you prayers.

Also, Drew and I had a fun little get away about two weeks ago. We went to Vegas!!! It was so much fun! We went down for our birthday presents - we decided to combine our birthday presents together. We were able to see the Mentalist on Saturday and on Sunday we saw Mystere. These were amazing productions! If you have never seen Mystere or O you need to see them. The whole time Drew and I were amazed by everything going on. We were also able to spend a few hours at he Vegas temple. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but on the inside it is gorgeous!

It feels like Spring in February...

Can I say how weird the weather has been lately. I swear today was like spring and last week it was snowing. Which makes me wonder.... is it going to be an early summer or a really late winter? Anyways, so Drew applied to Disney for an internship. Can I say how much I really hope he gets that one!!!! He has also applied for the Dixie hospital. We still don't know where we are going, but hopefully we will know soon... since it is in 3 months... Just sayin :) Please keep us in your prayers as we make this decision on where to go for the internship. We would greatly appreciate it!

Boring life...

Another semester has started... Its exciting. There really isn't much going on in our lives other than school and work. We are trying to go to Vegas in February, but that has yet to be determined. Oh Drew is applying for interns right now so please keep up in your prayers. Other than that there isn't much else. Have a wonderful day to those that read our blog .

For Time And All Eternity

Can you imagine it! Drew and I have now been married for a year and a half! We have had a wonderful time being together. There have definitely been ups and downs, like most marriages, but we couldn't have asked for a better marriage than what we have :)

We were married on June 22, 2010 in the Salt Lake Temple and since then have grown even more in love with one another and have had some wonderful times together!

Here are just a few of the things we have done :)

During the summer, after we were married, we were able to go to Lake Powell and spend time with my family. It rained the whole time ha ha. But, it brought the coolest sights that I have never seen before. When taking the house boat into the bay we were passing the cliffs that had waterfalls that were streaming down that were a brilliant color of red.I will never forget the beauty that it brought!

We went on our first camping trip together. We received a tent for one of our wedding gifts, something that we would have never thought to put on our registry, but was an awesome gift! Fun, fun time :) we had gotten the biggest camp ground there was in that park, completely by accident, and it was all to ourselves and our little tent. The next morning when driving back we drove the Alpine Loop to see the beauty of that drive.

Then school started. Once school had started we didn't have much time to really do anything else besides school and homework.
We were fortunate enough, with our crazy lives, to have been able to go to one of our most favorite concerts, Jon Schmidt. This concert each year is held at Thanksgiving Point and have gone there every year since we started dating. This year we were lucky enough to have front row seats!!! I can't even tell you how amazing the concert was. He is a brilliant pianist as well as performer.

Then comes the HOLIDAYS! These were the first holidays we spent together while being married. We struggled to figure out what kind of traditions we wanting to create in our own home. One thing we felt strongly to start doing is to see The Forgotten Carols. It is a great way to start of the Christmas season (we have already gone this year to see it :) ). If you haven't seen it yet I would encourage you to go see it! Another tradition we have started is going up to Gardner Village and walking around the stores as well as going to have dinner at Archibald's. Can I say the best restaurant ever! As we walk around the stores we make sure we stop by the ornament store. This is where we would go and pick out an ornament for each other and wrap them up and put them in our stocking. On Christmas Day we would unwrap what the other has picked out for us and hang it on the tree. Last thing we do, but definitely not the least especially with time as our family grows, we make a Christmas Eve breakfast. Which last year we made waffles with strawberries, bacon, sausage, hash-browns, and orange juice. This is a wonderful way Drew and I are able to spend time together and talk as well as being able to feel the Christmas Spirit with these traditions.

These are just a few ways we celebrate the holidays and I am sure that more traditions will come over time :)

February came! My sister Megan and her husband Devin had their baby SJ, short for Seth James. He is the cuties little thing ever! It has been very exciting to have this new addition to our family. He is now the first grand child to my parents as well as the first nephew to all my siblings (blood related). I can't wait for many more nieces and nephews ;)

To end this blog, I just want to say what an amazing blessing it has been in my life to be married to my best friend. He has always been there for me in every trial I have faced and has loved me unconditionally. I am so happy to have been sealed to him for time and all eternity. I love him with all my heart and I look forward to have many more experiences with him.

I will continue to talk about our first year of being married as well as new things we encounter and fun things we do :)
